Motion Analysis Lab
Description
The Motion Analysis Lab researchers focus their work on two main
activities:
- developing techniques for investigating the relationship between the
mechanics of movement and the characteristics of the EMG data
- implementing methods for studying the neural control and
biomechanics of posture.
The lab is equipped with a four-camera motion analysis system (Elite,
BTS, Milan, Italy), a permanently installed force platform and two
portable platforms (Kistler Instrumente AG Winterthur, Switzerland), and
EMG equipment. Recent work of the researchers in this lab includes
documentation of the association between changes of the mechanics of
movement during the accomplishment of repetitive tasks (i.e., lifting and
knee flexion/extension movements) and muscle fatigue.
